Material Handler / Forklift Operator

Location: Huron, SD
Pay: $19.00 to $24.00 DOE

Shift: 1st, with OT as required

We are looking for an experienced Material Handler to support production in our steel trailer manufacturing facility. This position plays a key role in keeping welding and production operations running by moving steel, unloading trucks, managing inventory, and pulling parts for production orders.

This is a hands‑on, industrial role working with heavy steel materials. Forklift experience is required.

• Operate forklifts to move steel, parts, and materials throughout the facility
• Unload incoming trucks and verify shipments
• Count, track, and organize inventory accurately
• Pull and stage parts and materials for welding and production orders
• Deliver materials to production areas to keep welders supplied
• Maintain organized storage areas and clear aisles
• Identify shortages, damaged materials, or inventory issues and report them
• Follow all safety rules and proper material‑handling procedures
• Assist with other warehouse or production tasks as needed

• 2+ years of material handling or warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment
• Forklift experience required (certification preferred or ability to obtain)
• Experience handling steel or heavy materials strongly preferred
• Ability to read work orders, part numbers, and basic inventory paperwork
• Basic math skills for counting and verifying materials
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

• Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work on your feet for extended periods
• Comfortable working in a noisy, industrial environment
