PurposeThe purpose of this role is to assist in manufacturing metered dose inhalation (MDI) products in a pharmaceutical manufacturing company.
Multifunctional RoleThis job is multifunctional. The primary nature of the job is to serve as a Manufacturing Operator. As a secondary requirement, the position will provide support to other operational functions including, but not limited to, Warehouse Operations, Packaging Operations, and Facilities Operations.
Job DescriptionThe Manufacturing Operator performs all functions related to the production of MDI products consistent with established Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), customer requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Incumbents are responsible for safe and efficient execution of duties while ensuring product compliance with established standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Dispense raw material and primary packing materials as per work order.
- Plan and execute batches.
- Monitor cleaning and sanitation of production area and machinery per SOP during batch to batch and product to product changeovers.
- Daily monitor and record production materials and lines.
- Conduct process checks and record in batch manufacturing records.
- Control machine operations to minimize rejections and maximize outputs while maintaining quality standards.
- Operate equipment and perform maintenance on machinery.
- Safeguard equipment for smooth functioning with coordination of engineering for preventive maintenance and calibration.
- Manufacture and fill products per Batch Manufacturing Records and SOP.
- Maintain inventory of machine parts, tools and accessories.
- Work individually and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Coordinate with packaging, engineering, QA, and QC for better planning and execution.
- Sample as per schedule in coordination with QA and QC.
- Check and ensure status labels at all stages of manufacturing and filling.
- Identify and assist in corrective actions.
- Perform, check and ensure calibration/verification of instruments, equipment and weighing balances as scheduled.
- Ensure line clearance during batch to batch and product to product changeover.
- Document online and make timely entries related to manufacturing and filling operations.
- Wear appropriate PPE as stated in SOP before entering any processing areas.
- Execute procedures to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
- Perform duties with safe use of equipment per Health & Safety procedures and equipment manuals.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Maintain 100% cGMP and SOP compliance during operation hours.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Report issues to the department head or reporting manager.
- Perform daily maintenance on equipment and machinery.
- Complete all documentation timely, ensuring integrity, accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain discipline in the department.
- Assist in training of other employees in the department.
- Flexibly work extended hours to meet manufacturing schedules when needed.
All employees undergo various training activities at the start of employment. New and re‑training occurs periodically. Operators may be required to cross‑train in all manufacturing areas. Employees must strictly adhere to all safety, health, and environmental guidelines at all times and ensure that all safety precautions are taken during machine handling.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Accredited college certificate or university degree is preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience with MDI or aerosol products.
- Proficient in English (speaking, reading, writing).
