Material Handler, Forklift Operator
Position Overview
This position works under direct supervision while performing shipping, receiving, and material control tasks. Duties include handling purchasing rejects, ensuring suppliers have up-to-date prints, keying transfers, and managing material handling. The role handles basic issues and problems, referring more complex matters to higher-level staff.
Responsibilities- Adhere to Terex safety policies and procedures.
- Adhere to and promote The Terex Way Values.
- Receive and check in raw materials, purchased stock, finished items, equipment, supplies, and returned goods.
- Check received goods against purchase orders or receiving slips for identification, type, part number, dimension, size, quantity, and general quality.
- Visually inspect goods for damage from handling and transit, and process damage reports.
- Access computer terminals and process all transactions required for the receiving function.
- Prepare reports to appraise purchasing and manufacturing of goods received relative to identification, type, size, quantity, quality, and dispatch or deliver materials to storage or manufacturing areas.
- Operate forklift in accordance with Terex Utilities forklift policy.
- Work under general supervision; reports are subject to verification; follow instructions and guidance for new or unusual procedures.
- Maintain a clean work area and participate in 5S standards.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- 0-2 years of experience in material inventory.
- High School Diploma and/or equivalent experience.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to read and interpret blur prints.
- Basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of subject matter.
- Equipment operation and tool operation skills.
- Judgment, interpersonal skills, math, reading, and writing.
- Medium to heavy duties: 10 to 40 pounds of force frequently, may include pushing, pulling, and lifting.
- Occasional lifting of 40 to 100 pounds, with assistance or machinery.
- Ability to stand on concrete for 10+ hours per shift.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Effective communication with all team members.
- Teamwork and contribution to group goals with a positive attitude.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Recognize potential safety hazards and take appropriate actions to minimize risks.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive business and product information.
- Maintain acceptable attendance and provide adequate notification for absences.
The salary range for this position is $21.63 to $26.55 hourly.
