Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Overview
During a standard shift, the Dryer Technician works independently to monitor computerized controls and adjusts equipment that regulate the drying, cracking and cleaning of soybeans in preparation for the crush and extraction process. After training, the Dryer Technician works four 12‑hour shifts rotating from days to nights every eight days. SDSP maintains a family‑oriented, positive environment where hard work is rewarded and each employee is valued.

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic math skills
- Basic computer skills including entering data into a spreadsheet and utilizing email
- Dependable, self‑motivated, and able to work independently to achieve a common goal
Must possess the ability to do the following frequently:
- Bend, Squat, and climb ladders and stairs
- Kneel, Stand, and Walk
- Handle objects, reach above shoulder level, and push/pull
- Carry/Lift 25–50 lbs.
Must possess the ability to do the following occasionally:
- Crawl, Sit, use fine finger movements, and carry/lift over 50 lbs.
Works on & around high structures | Works around moving machinery | Exposed to marked changes in temperature | Exposed to excessive noise | Drives motorized equipment | Work in confined spaces | Exposed to dust | Occasionally exposed to fumes.
