Sioux Falls is the largest city in South Dakota and one of the fastest-growing communities in the Midwest. It is a vibrant city marked by generous businesses and individuals, increasing cultural diversity, and a strong sense of community that reflects its small-town roots. As a regional hub, Sioux Falls is home to two major healthcare systems, a thriving banking and financial sector, and a growing population of refugees and immigrants from around the world.
The city offers a wide range of ministry opportunities, with six high schools (four public and two parochial), eight middle schools (six public and two parochial), two universities, and two community and technical colleges.
Young Life has faithfully served Sioux Falls since the early 1980s through a variety of ministry models, including college partnerships, church partnerships, and as a stand-alone area. Today, Young Life is in an exciting season of rebuilding. The ministry has a committed core of students, strong relationships with school administrators and teachers, and is growing a team of dedicated volunteer leaders.
The area is supported by a core group of faithful, stable, and engaged adults and is financially healthy with significant opportunities for future growth and development. This is an exciting opportunity for a leader who is passionate about reaching adolescents with the hope of Jesus, developing leaders, and building on a strong foundation to help shape the next chapter of Young Life in Sioux Falls.
