Grocery Sales Associate

• Keep the Grocery department well stocked, organized, and appealing to meet customer demands and maximize sales.
• Build displays to drive incremental sales.
• Stock and rotate merchandise to ensure freshness.
• Keep product within easy customer reach.
• Store excess merchandise according to backroom organization guidelines.
• Smile and greet customers, answer questions, and help resolve concerns promptly in a polite and professional manner.
• Apply proper stocking techniques to ensure products are properly located on shelves, are in saleable condition with correct prices and signs.
• Assist with receiving, unloading, checking‑in, breaking‑down, and storing deliveries through operation of power jack or hand jack (training provided).
• Handle damaged or discontinued items according to company policy.
• Remove product that cannot be sold.
• Maintain general sanitation in the department, following cleaning schedules and department guidelines to keep work areas, equipment, counters, display cases, etc. clean and compliant with health and OSHA requirements.
• Disposing of trash properly.
• Maintain productivity standards, work methods and standards, and shrink control.
• Comply with security regulations and policies.
• Put out stock at an acceptable rate as determined by company standards.
• Assist with baling cardboard or other related duties (training provided).
• Ensure smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co‑workers and supervisors.
• Continuously improve job performance.
• Utilize all company provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to cut‑resistant gloves, safety cutters, company‑sponsored footwear, etc.
• May also be called upon to assist in other departments.

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

• Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• No prior experience required.
