Job OverviewAs a Field Merchandiser, you will work independently to showcase your organization and time‑management skills, establish retailer relationships, and serve as the face of Hallmark. You will collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement, maintain inventory levels, and support seasonal resets and installations when needed. Occasionally you may work with other products from other companies in the stores you serve.
Salaryand Schedule Details
- Hourly pay rate: $15.00 to $17.00 per hour depending on skills and experience.
- Paid training delivered through live, hands‑on instruction and virtual classroom training.
- Eligible for voluntary benefits (medical, dental, vision, etc.).
- Eligible employees receive annual pay increases.
- Part‑time position with a variable weekly schedule.
- Average weekly hours: 8–12 hours.
- Availability required the week before and after major holidays, which may include weekends.
- Availability to support season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support.
You will perform service work in the Hallmark department of various retail stores such as grocery stores, drug stores, department stores, and mass retailers. The role consists of three major components:
- Day‑to‑day engagement:
Use a mobile device to restock, organize, and monitor Hallmark product inventory. Communicate with supervisors, report time, provide feedback, and answer surveys. Interact professionally and courteously with store employees, management, and customers. You are responsible for the entire Hallmark product display at your assigned stores. - Holiday support:
During seasonal demand peaks (Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas), you may work additional days and extended hours, including weekends or holidays. - Department resets:
Participate in installations and various tasks such as building and installing Hallmark fixtures, relocating card departments, and resetting card sections. You will be notified at least two weeks in advance for remodel assignments, which may include evenings or weekends. - Team collaboration:
Support other merchandisers as needed within the Hallmark field organization.
This is a physically demanding job that requires a high level of energy and urgency. You will work on the sales floor and in back stockrooms, repeatedly pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds daily and up to 50 pounds on occasion. Kneeling, squatting, walking, and standing throughout the day are required, and you may need to climb stairs or step ladders.
BasicQualifications
- At least 18 years of age.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
- Proficiency with a digital handheld device for opening and reading documents and interpreting information.
- Access to Wi‑Fi and the internet.
- Reliable transportation to travel to and between assigned stores.
- Paid training.
