Washington County Substitute Teacher and Support Staff

Location:

Hurricane, UT – Valley Academy Charter, Washington County

Compensation: $95.00 – $180.00 per day.

A substitute teaching or support staff position with ESS could be the opportunity you're looking for!

When a teacher is absent, a qualified substitute is needed to carry out the educational program. As a substitute teacher, you'll become an integral part of a school’s educational team, amplifying your teaching expertise while maximizing the learning experience for students. An ESS substitute teacher assists with classroom instruction in the absence of a regular teacher. This person follows and teaches lesson plans, aids students in understanding subject matter, and ensures that regular classroom routines are followed.

When a support staff member is absent, a qualified substitute is needed to carry out a variety of functions in the school offices, cafeterias, playgrounds, and classrooms. The work of an ESS substitute teacher or support staff provides a unique way to mold the future of our next generation!

Responsibilities
  • Provide meaningful instruction and continuity of education for students in assigned classrooms, while the regular teacher is absent.
  • Review and implement regular teacher's routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives.
  • Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
  • Report any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to school administration.
  • Perform other duties as directed by school administration.
Qualifications
  • Must be proficient in English (speaking, reading, writing) for Teaching positions.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Minimum requirement is an associate’s degree or 48 hours of college credits and 18 years of age or older.
