Botany Apprentice: Native Plant Restoration & Seed Collection

Job Summary

American Conservation Experience (ACE), a nonprofit Conservation Corps, seeks a botany apprentice to contribute to native plant materials development and restoration projects.

Base location:
Hurricane, UT (working in Zion and Bryce National Parks).

Start Date:

June 27th.

A CE members will join a coordinated seed collection effort to support ecological restoration goals. These positions are developmental within the botanical sciences and will work closely with vegetation staff and learn directly from other practitioners. Members will receive direct technical training in botanical systematics and techniques for seed collection and curation, and contribute to increasing the supply of native plant materials for targeted restoration activities on public lands.

• Contribute to native plant materials development and restoration projects.
• Participate in coordinated seed collection and curation for ecological restoration goals.
• Collaborate with vegetation staff and other practitioners.
• Gain technical training in botanical systematics and seed collection techniques.
• Assist in expanding native plant material resources for restoration activities on public lands.

ACE members will gain work and technical experience and have educational opportunities throughout the project duration, including hands‑on training and mentorship from experienced personnel.
