We are seeking a culinary-experienced Restaurant Manager to join our team at The Grille at Sand Hollow Resort
.

Position Overview

The Restaurant Manager is responsible for the daily operation of a full-service restaurant, bar, and patio at a busy public golf course and resort. This role focuses on delivering excellent guest service to both golfers and non-golfing guests, driving revenue, and leading a high-performing front-of-house team.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the entire restaurant (FoH and BoH), bar, patio, catering & events, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and friendly service to staff and guests.
  • Hire, onboard/offboard, train, schedule, and supervise servers, bartenders, cooks, hosts, bussers, and all FoH and BoH support staff, including catering and events.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the floor, engaging with guests, handling issues, and supporting staff during peak times.
  • Partner with the Food & Beverage Operations Manager and Executive Chef on menu execution, food quality, timing, and presentation.
  • Working with the Executive Chef, place orders, and perform monthly inventories.
  • Ensure compliance with all health department, food safety, and liquor laws and their regulations.
  • Monitor labor, food, and beverage costs; review daily/weekly sales reports and adjust staffing and operations to meet financial targets.
  • Coordinate with the Golf and Vacation Rentals teams on tournaments, leagues, and outings to plan food and beverage service before, during, and after play.
  • Oversee catering and events, ensuring a flawless execution for staff and guests.
  • Support special events, i.e., holiday dinners, theme nights, live music, and community events to attract both golfers and guests.
  • Oversee cash handling, POS functions, daily reporting, and basic financial controls.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and safety in all restaurant and kitchen areas.
  • Implement and uphold service standards, side work checklists, and opening/closing procedures.
  • Respond to guest feedback and complaints promptly and professionally, turning situations into positive experiences.
  • Work with marketing to promote the restaurant, daily specials, and events through social media, email lists, and signage.
Qualifications
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of restaurant management or supervisory experience; high-volume or casual dining experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate decisive, timely leadership in all matters.
  • Experience in a golf course, resort, or similar indoor/outdoor hospitality environment is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to recruit, train, motivate, and hold staff accountable.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of restaurant financials, labor management, and cost control.
  • Comfortable working with POS systems and basic computer applications (email, spreadsheets, Toast, Xtra Chef).
  • Current Food Handler/Manager and Alcohol Server certifications as required by state and local laws.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early morning, evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during the busy seasons.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
