Position Description
Immediately hiring a Permanent Full‑time Experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Trailer Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Hurricane, Utah.
Compensation- Hourly Pay: $26.00 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter—four times per year
- Trailer experience required
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday, weekends off - Hours:
First shift 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
- Annual merit pay increases each year

- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree (preferred)
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Two or more years of combined classroom training and work experience (desired)
- Valid commercial driver license (CDL) Class A (preferred)
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from prior employers for the last 3 years
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Perform standard vehicle maintenance
- Perform standard component inspections and repairs
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, using diagnostic computer when applicable
- Identify root cause of basic failures and perform repairs as required
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints when assigned a task
- Utilize key functions of shop management system and electronic documentation
- Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)
- Perform other support duties as required to support operations, including but not limited to service island support
