Mentor Teacher –Kindergarten

LOCATION: Mountain View Elementary School

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Five (5) Years Teaching Experience
• Must Participate In Training Program
• Master’s Degree And/Or Previous Advanced Training In Teacher Effectiveness
• Willingness To Assist New Teachers And Perform Assigned Responsibilities Such As:
• Regular Observations/Conferences
• Attendance At Monthly Support Team Meetings
• Completion Of A Log Book
• Ongoing Support And Assistance To New Employee
• Same Programmatic Level As Intern And Same Building Location If Possible

SALARY: The Mentor Shall Receive A Stipend Paid By The West Virginia Department Of Education.

LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT: 2026-27 School Year

JOB DESCRIPTION: Participate in a formal beginning teacher assistance program; help resolve

problems of beginning teachers through assistance and support; classroom observation and follow-up conferences concerning teaching techniques, classroom management skills, improved relationships with students, etc.; assist with identifying goals and objectives; assist with self-evaluation of intern teacher

Effective Employment Date: 2026-27 School Year
