Dealership Accounting Clerk
Our company has an outstanding opportunity for a results-focused, highly driven and experienced Dealership Accounting Clerk.
We are looking for a candidate that is able to perform a variety of dealership accounting functions and can adapt to changing tasks while maintaining accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum of 2 years experience in a dealership accounting position.
Pay is based on experience.
GeneralJob Description
Must have experience related to job duties below:
- Communicates and works closely with the Office manager/Controller daily.
- General automotive accounting duties.
- Prepares and reconciles bank deposits daily.
- Prints all accounts receivable reports and maintains all files.
- Posts internals and other accounting entries as directed by office manager.
- Reconciles statements and the ledger making sure that payments are consistent with dealership schedules.
- Clean assigned schedules weekly.
- Provides title clerk with information on all purchased vehicles for title list.
- Assists in monthly closing procedures.
- Posts daily funding.
- Processes payoffs on trade-ins.
- Assists with special projects as necessary.
- Accounts Receivable for two stores.
- Reconciles and posts finance charge receipts daily.
- Enters finalized cash receipts and updates accounts receivable ledger by customer.
- Prepares accounting statements monthly as directed.
- Performs additional accounting and administrative duties as needed and directed by management.
- Reviews the reconciliation of general ledger accounts with outside sources to ensure proper bank reconciliation, reserve accounts, factory payable, and floor plan payable.
- Floor plan daily.
- Maintains a professional appearance and a neat work area.
- Reinforces company policies and adheres to all company standards.
- Maintains and inspects for compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Ensures proper internal controls are in place.
- Inputs inventory for used vehicle purchases.
- Works collaboratively with the Sales and Finance Department.
Minimum of 2 years of automotive accounting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook is required. CDK DMS system a plus.
