POSITION SUMMARYThe Aquatics Technician is responsible for assisting the General Manager with the Aquatics operations of the Hurst Aquatics Centers aquatic parks. This role will prepare the facilities for the day's demands, manage chemical and pool operations, complete daily reports and possibly help training of staff if qualified.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES- Adheres to preventative maintenance schedule for aquatics equipment (pools, pumps, motors, slides)
- Maintain all pool filters and cleans/changes all filters according to our SOP standards
- Maintain pool pump room and equipment with or without the assistance of an outside pool service company
- Maintain pool daily chemical check schedule including logging of readings
- Assists with aquatics equipment inventory management
- Assist with cleaning of pool(s) and decks, vacuuming and pressure washing
- Assist with maintaining the facility to meet Health Department standards
- Aid the GM and staff in other various duties as assigned
- Supervises the chlorine and pH levels (and all other applicable levels) of the pools (ensures CPO standard compliance) and splash pads
- All other duties as assigned by management
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatics Facility Operator (AFO) certification or earned within 60 days of hire with in-house class
- Mechanically oriented with experience in commercial pool pump room operations and pool chemicals
- Experience and success in customer service and leadership
- Action-oriented personality with a 'get it done' attitude and proficiency for efficiency
- 2-3 years' experience of aquatics facility operations is preferred
- Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must have strong leadership skills
- Must be detail-oriented and have outstanding organizational skills
- Ability to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast paced environment
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist high
- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bend
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work in direct sunlight and be exposed to outside weather conditions
- The Team Member could be exposed to cleaning chemicals and must be handled with extreme caution
- Facilities have intermittent noise
