Job Summary
Responsible for hauling cement/mortar to support the production process of concrete products. Drives may also haul aggregates with end or belly dump and finished product on a flatbed. Requires current CDL A license and clean MVR. Local deliveries predominantly required.
Job Responsibilities- Transport cement, mortar, and other materials in a safe and timely manner
- Perform raw material bulk pickups using a pneumatic tanker (no tanker endorsement required)
- Work with Dispatch and Production personnel to maintain proper inventory levels
- Assist and supervise loading of truck to ensure proper order and weight distribution
- Receive assignments and special instructions from Dispatch and follow them to detail
- Maintain complete and accurate records such as driver daily truck log, fuel tickets, delivery documentation, and other required documents per state and federal regulations
- Navigate Android tablet using ELD and email
- Maintain good customer relations, both internal and external
- Perform detailed pre‑trip inspections of assigned vehicle and report immediately any concerns or problems
- Obtain shipping bills and necessary signatures and return completed paperwork to appropriate parties
- Operate tractor‑trailer/vehicle according to state and federal laws and observe all safety regulations established by the company, OSHA, MSHA and the Department of Motor Vehicles
- Provide and document proper routine maintenance of assigned truck and loading/unloading equipment
- Survey job area and unload cargo in the best available safe area
- Develop good knowledge of handled materials
- Monitor and immediately report problems with equipment operations, product quality, and customer satisfaction
- Perform other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job as assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
- High school diploma / equivalent
- Experience with pneumatic trailers a plus
- Tanker endorsement
- Must have CDL Class A
- At least 2 years of current CDL experience preferred
- Clean MVR
- Detail‑oriented
- Good communication skills
- Good knowledge of the product for quality assurance
- Safety‑minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance, and punctuality
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Basic mechanical skills
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds
- Current DOT physical
- Frequently required to climb, stand, walk, kneel, and bend
