Job Overview
The University of Nevada, Reno Extension is recruiting for a part‑time (50% FTE) Administrative Assistant 3 position for the Pershing County Extension Office. This position is located in Lovelock, Nevada.
Responsibilities- Manage the county extension office and reception duties.
- Provide program support through fiscal management (e.g., County Program, Workday).
- Maintain budget and financial records, including payroll, travel, claims, and budgeting forms.
- Coordinate grant management and data tracking.
- Assist with Extension activities, marketing, and promotion of programs.
- Provide travel support and occasional overnight or weekend assistance when required.
- High school graduation or equivalent education and three (3) years of progressively responsible work experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Maintenance of complex records and files.
- Public/customer relations, explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements.
- Preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms.
- Assisting staff and management with projects and activities.
- OR one (1) year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service.
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
- Completion of a fingerprinting/background check.
- Valid Nevada Class “C” driver’s license or higher within 30 days of appointment.
20 hours per week. Schedule will be discussed upon hire and may change based on organizational needs. Some nights and/or weekends may be required. Travel around the Pershing County area may be required based on programming needs.
CompensationGrade 27 (Entry, Step 01) – $22.13 per hour.
