As a Flagger / Traffic Control Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring safe and efficient work zones for our crews and the public. Responsibilities- Direct and control traffic in and around construction sites, ensuring safety for workers, motorists, and pedestrians.
- Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices and signage according to established safety standards.
- Operate communication and signaling equipment to coordinate movement and relay information among team members.
- Monitor work zones for potential hazards and proactively report safety concerns to supervisors.
- Collaborate with crew members and supervisors to support project goals and maintain a positive work environment.
- Participate in regular safety training and adhere to all company and regulatory guidelines.
- Ability to stand and work outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Physical stamina to lift, carry, and place traffic control devices as needed.
- Reliable transportation to travel to different job sites within the region.
- Flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends.
- Commitment to wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Demonstrates professionalism, dependability, and a strong work ethic.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in construction, traffic control, or public safety is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Traffic Control Certification preferred (training available upon hire).
Work Environment Requirements
- Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform tasks involving physical agility.
- Regularly sit, climb, and use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height.
- Lift and move objects weighing up to 25-50 lbs as needed.
- Work primarily outdoors, often in extreme weather and environmental conditions.
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions; exposed to jobsite hazards such as moving machinery, high places, airborne particles, and loud environments.
- Must have specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, to operate equipment safely.
