- Preparing detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for water and wastewater treatment projects
- Review project documents, plans, specifications, and addenda completely and accurately
- Analyzing and compiling estimate data that impacts the cost of labor, materials, equipment requirements, location, and other factors
- Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier proposals
- Developing and maintaining business relationships with small businesses, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Provide input on value engineering
- Ability to provide conceptual estimates from limited information with assumptions and clarifications
- Preparing contingency and risk analysis for the estimate and pre-review
- Communicating estimate bid information to field operations at pre-construction meetings to ensure understanding of the scope of the job and critical means and methods of construction
- 2+ years of construction estimating experience
- Preferred but not required:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, business administration, or equivalent work experience - Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings and understanding specifications
- Must be able to review take-off quantities to ensure accuracy of data used in estimates and review drawings, specifications, and proposed project site conditions
- Motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills and experience working in collaborative environments
