Crew Leader, Construction

• Lead and direct crews performing track construction and rail yard work
• Plan and coordinate materials, equipment, and staffing for projects
• Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with FRA rules and company procedures
• Oversee daily crew activities to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety
• Train and onboard new employees
• Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed to meet timelines
• Support cost control and efficient use of resources
• Perform additional duties as assigned

• High school diploma or GED
• 5–7 years of experience in railroad track construction
• 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of track construction, maintenance, and defect identification
• Ability to operate and train others on heavy equipment, including backhoes and front-end loaders
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, and safety standards
• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to approximately 75 lbs
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
• Certification required when working on FRA-regulated track, as applicable

Demonstrates expertise in railroad track construction and maintenance, with strong leadership capabilities to manage crews and ensure compliance with safety standards. Proficient in resource planning, project monitoring, and training personnel in heavy equipment operation.
