- Kansas is looking to hire a full-time Career Specialist for Hutchinson High School in Atchison, Kansas. The role is for individuals passionate about student success and teaching students to overcome obstacles to graduation while preparing them for career and college pathways. This is a full-time educational position that offers flexibility and a supportive environment.

A Day in the Life of a Career Specialist

Career Specialists identify, recruit, and educate students with graduation difficulties, guiding them toward successful transitions to college, military, or career pathways through the JAG model. They build positive relationships, employ project‑based learning, trauma‑informed care, and employer engagement, and support 35–60 students each year with performance‑based outcomes. They also provide value‑added instruction, support, and advocacy to graduates and non‑graduates via follow‑up services.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Resident of Kansas
  • Proficiency with technology
