Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered during the manufacturing of boiler room equipment.
• Direct and coordinate manufacturing, installation, and support of electrical equipment to ensure compliance with specifications, codes and customer requirements.
• Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing and installation standards and specifications.
• Inspect completed electrical installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with safety standards.
• Prepare specifications for the purchase of materials and equipment from suppliers.
• Supervise and train team members as necessary.
• Analyze, interpret, and troubleshoot information to resolve design‑related problems.
• Write procedures for electrical equipment and installations.
• Review engineering and customer specifications regarding electrical requirements for equipment to be manufactured.
• Support testing of electrical components on equipment at SBW’s facility and other testing facilities off‑site.
• Prepare drawings and procedures with details and clarity for facility personnel to follow.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or at least 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Must be capable of following verbal and/or written instructions.
• Must be capable of good articulation when talking on the telephone with customers.
• Must have good mathematical skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and industrial skills.
• Must know and practice good drafting procedures.
• Must possess good electrical/mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
• Detail‑minded.
• Able and willing to assist with troubleshooting on the manufacturing floor when needed.
• Have the ability to sit for long periods of time.
• Have the ability to grasp, stoop, squat or perform duties with reasonable accommodation.
• Proficient with current computer programs and applications.

• Experience in ASME code processes, fire tube and hot water condensing boilers and burner management systems, electrical control panels, and experience with UL testing.
