Responsibilities
- Responsible for the organization of design/production related files.
- Responsible for verifying the accuracy of drawings and compatibility of work across disciplines.
- Assists the engineer in outlining objectives, requirements and design approaches.
- Attends project and pre-construction meetings and provides input to ensure proper policies, procedures, and specifications are followed.
- Prepares electronic files for use in meetings and facilitates their display.
- Calculates quantities and performs engineering related computations.
- Provides training and mentoring to earlier career technicians.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or related field and 3 years of relevant experience, or Associate of Science in Drafting or Technical School or related and 5 years of relevant experience, or In lieu education, 7 years of relevant experience
- Proficient in CADD and knowledgeable in design software such as GIS, 3D, Highway or Railroad design, Building design and Graphic Imaging
- Advanced knowledge in the terminology and symbols used in survey notes, plans, shop drawings, aerial photographs, and maps related to a specific Engineering sub-type
Demonstrates expertise in CADD and design software, with a strong ability to verify drawing accuracy and compatibility across engineering disciplines. Provides training and mentoring to junior technicians while ensuring adherence to project specifications and engineering standards.
