Position Summary & Responsibilities Position SummaryThe position (K0245517) carries out essential functions for programming administered through the Bureau of Family Health, specifically related to maternal mortality and morbidity. Duties serving as the project director for a federal grant including overseeing, leading and facilitating the State Maternal Health Task Force; monitoring patterns and trends related to maternal and pregnancy-associated mortality and morbidity, issuing action alerts or bulletins in partnership with organizations;
analyzing findings and recommendations with the KMMRC & KPQC Administrator, Title V MCH Director, Epidemiologists and other key leadership positions to determine interventions and actions to prevent future occurrences and improve maternal health; managing grants and monitoring contracts tied to the State Maternal Health Innovation grant and other services/supports; identifying potential funding sources to sustain efforts and address emerging needs as necessary in accordance with the Title V Maternal & Child Health (MCH) Block Grant and State Action Plan.
Incumbent will be responsible for budgeting and reporting management with support from supervisor.
Develop and monitor the maternal health strategic plan; maintain understanding of implementation challenges and develop comprehensive solutions; provide support to partner organizations in aligning their work to the common agenda/shared plan; identify statewide health concerns and coordinate activities of local health agencies with that of the state office; analyze and make recommendations on policies, procedures, and legislation which may impact on health programs, services or plans.
