Your Role

As a Paving Equipment Operator at CRH, you’ll play a vital part in delivering top-quality construction projects. You will:

Operate a variety of advanced heavy equipment including loaders, excavators, dozers, graders, and backhoes.

Follow equipment manuals and complete daily equipment checklists to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Work closely with your project manager and foreperson to meet daily project goals and maintain superior safety standards.

Perform thorough pre-start inspections, track service needs, and ensure all machinery is in excellent condition.

Coordinate with other operators onsite to optimize workflow and ensure project success.

Keep equipment clean and well-maintained, promoting a positive image and extending equipment life.

Adapt to new tasks and support your team as needed to keep projects moving forward.

What We're Looking For

Dedication to safety and quality workmanship.

Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening, background check, and “Fit for Work” physical.

Valid driver’s license with a clean record; ability to complete safe driver training.

Responsible, punctual, and ready to work flexible hours when required.

Professional and respectful communication skills with team members and the public.

Legal eligibility to work in the U.S. (documentation required).

Construction experience preferred; familiarity with materials and equipment essential.

Work Environment Requirements
  • Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform tasks involving physical agility.
  • Regularly sit, climb, and use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height.
  • Lift and move objects weighing up to 25-50 lbs as needed.
  • Work primarily outdoors, often in extreme weather and environmental conditions.
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions; exposed to jobsite hazards such as moving machinery, high places, airborne particles, and loud environments.
  • Must have specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, to operate equipment safely.
  • Reasonable accommodations provided as necessary to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
