Prairie Land Partners is looking for a Combine Technician to join our Andale, Kansas team, with a strong focus on combines, headers, and other large agricultural equipment.
If you have experience working on combines, harvest equipment, heavy equipment, or other large ag machinery, we want to talk to you. John Deere experience is a plus, but we can train the right person who brings a strong mechanical aptitude, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to taking care of our customers.

What You'll DoAs a Combine Technician, you'll perform basic diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on customer and dealer-owned equipment, with an emphasis on large agricultural and harvest equipment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on combines, headers, and other agricultural equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and powertrain systems
- Follow John Deere Technical Manual procedures and other approved service procedures
- Use appropriate diagnostic tools, equipment, and repair techniques
- Work alongside senior technicians and Service Managers to troubleshoot more complex repairs
- Communicate with customers regarding work performed on their equipment as needed
- Participate in technical training and development programs to continue building your skills
- Maintain working knowledge of John Deere and competitive agricultural equipment
- Maintain service vehicles, tools, equipment, and inventory in good working condition
- Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Complete required service reports, forms, and documentation
- Support the team during peak harvest and seasonal service demands
- Perform other duties necessary to support our customers and dealership
- Ability to consistently promote, support, work, and act in a manner in support of AVE-PLP’s DNA.
- Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of customer and dealer-owned equipment.
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
- Ability to communicate effectively with AVE-PLP staff and customers, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Ability to use job-related computer applications and basic computer functions.
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) equivalent is required.
- One or more years of experience performing service repairs is preferred.
- Experience with the mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in off road, construction, lawn, or heavy equipment is preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
- Passing a driving record (MVR), criminal history background checks, employment verification, and drug screen will be required prior to the start of employment.
- Forklift license preferred or ability to obtain one.
- Occasional outdoor work in extreme weather conditions (hot/cold); walking on uneven terrain; occasional exposure to insects.
- Regular and long-term exposure to work areas containing toxic/caustic/hazardous/volatile chemicals; extreme conditions such as hot/cold; sharp hazards; dust/fumes/gasses; electrical shock; moving mechanical parts; high pitched and/or constant loud noise.
