In this role, you’ll play a critical part in developing software used to migrate, merge, de-convert, and restructure customer data within DCI’s financial processing environment. You’ll work closely with Implementation and internal teams to ensure smooth client conversions—helping banks nationwide operate efficiently and securely.
The RoleThis position may be located in our corporate office in Hutchinson, KS, or performed remotely.
What You’ll DoKey Responsibilities Include
- Develop, test, debug, and document software used to convert and migrate customer data based on defined business requirements
- Write secure, high-performance code that ensures efficient processing and optimal system performance
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of DCI applications to support effective customer data migrations
- Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to development standards, security guidelines, and specifications
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational documentation, and user guides
- Analyze existing programs and recommend enhancements or new solutions to improve efficiency and resource utilization
- Collaborate with Implementation, Customer Support, Education, and other internal teams to support conversions and resolve software-related questions
- Assist with coordination of implementation and training efforts related to new or updated programs
- Stay current on development platforms, tools, methodologies, and standards used by the Development Department
- Provide backup support to other developers and internal departments as needed
- Complete required technical and organizational training to expand knowledge and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, and/or equivalent experience
- Three or more years of development or conversion programming experience
- Experience working in Linux environments, including use of command-line tools
- Proficiency with relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server
- Experience working with core financial processing software, including conversion and de-conversion activities
- Availability to work weekend hours when supporting conversions (1–2 Saturdays per month)
- Regular and reliable attendance is required
- Strong understanding of secure coding practices and performance optimization
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience supporting banking systems or financial data processing platforms
- Banking experience is preferred for all positions
You’ll begin your day reviewing conversion tasks and collaborating with your team on active client projects. You may spend the morning developing or enhancing conversion programs, followed by testing and debugging data migration logic. Later in the day, you might assist the Implementation team with a conversion‑related question, participate in a code review, or update technical documentation. By the end of the day, your work will directly support successful client transitions and reliable banking operations.
