Bus Route Driver

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Bus Route Driver. In this part-time position, you will be responsible for transporting students along designated routes while ensuring their safety, comfort, and timely arrival at their destinations. This role requires excellent driving skills, a strong commitment to customer service, and adherence to all traffic regulations and company policies.

Pay is based on experience. Job remains open until filled.

• Operate a bus along designated routes, adhering to schedules and ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of all students by conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintaining the vehicle in good working condition.
• Assist students with boarding and disembarking, including those with disabilities or special needs.
• Maintain accurate records of student counts and any incidents that occur during the route.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding route changes, delays, or emergencies.
• Follow all traffic laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures, to ensure the safety of students and the public.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing passenger inquiries and concerns in a professional manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bus interior and exterior.
• Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance driving skills and safety awareness.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with passenger endorsement.
• Minimum of 2 years of driving experience, preferably in a bus or large vehicle.
• Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and defensive driving techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Flexibility to work various shifts.
• Must pass a background check, physical, and TB test.
• First aid and CPR certification is a plus. Training will be provided.
