- Perform fiscal management functions and accounting work for Ridgewater College
- Provide leadership in accounting reconciliation processes, compliance monitoring, financial reporting, and financial transaction processing
- Provide financial management analysis, consultation, and training for the college
- Manage federal, state, and private grants, projects, and agreements
- Maintain the chart of accounts to accurately reflect grant/project operations
- Monitor grant/project financial data and ensure expenses remain within grant/project parameters
- Provide required financial reports and complete reimbursement requests for federal and state grants
- Submit reports and reimbursement requests to grantors
- Assist grant directors with close-out requirements, including audits
- Prepare invoicing per grant/interagency agreements
- Reconcile special allocations and grants with SWIFT
- Provide accounting services for lease agreements, PSEO contracts, and college revenue activities
- Determine cash flow assistance and monitor appropriations and year-end closing
- Provide monthly budget summary and detail reports and additional reports upon request
- Interpret and audit budget reports, identify discrepancies, and initiate corrections
- Determine, initiate, and communicate actions to resolve fiscal issues, including journal entries, expenditure corrections, purchasing adjustments, or budget revisions
- Ensure expenditures are properly recorded in the Minnesota State Accounting System according to applicable policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned to support department operations
- Two years of work-related experience
- A Bachelor's degree may substitute for 12 months of experience
- An Associate's degree may substitute for 6 months of experience
- Skilled in accounts receivable and computerized billing systems
- Ability to accurately enter, access, and correct financial data
- Experience with accounting systems, querying and compiling records, preparing reports, and supporting spending plans, financial status updates, and budget requests
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Skilled in analyzing, interpreting, reconciling, and preparing financial information
- Ability to identify discrepancies and recommend solutions to procedural or fiscal issues
- Ability to interpret and explain accounting and related fiscal policies, procedures, and practices
- Knowledge of business practices, principles, and protocols applied to disbursements, purchasing, and receipts techniques
- Familiarity with ISRS, MnSCU Accounting, Workday, Microsoft Office Suite, credit card systems, State of Minnesota eServices (DOR collections), and Perceptive Content
- Hands‑on experience with document management systems, including setup and ongoing maintenance
- Ability to develop and document procedures, recommend best practices, and revise processes
- Commitment to fostering inclusivity and demonstrated knowledge of and interest in diverse cultures and populations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
