Hutchinson Public Schools has an opening for a Library Media Assistant. This position starts at $16.00 an hour and is commensurate with education and experience. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Locates and checks out materials to students and inspects returned materials for damage.
• Issues overdue notices to borrowers.
Process and maintain reserve materials and interlibrary loans.
• Return materials to shelves, files, or other designated areas.
• Repair materials, if needed.
• Prepare new materials for circulation, including property stamping.
• Enter student data in automated library system, as needed.
• Answer phones and checks and processes mail.
• Order materials for teacher use from District Media Center and other schools.
• Assist with implementation of reading and other educational programs.
• Assist with inventory.
• Help maintain a clean, orderly and attractive environment, including preparation of displays
