Technician, Pharmacy

Pharmacy Technician I is responsible for routine duties in the hospital pharmacy, including the preparation and distribution of medications, and related clerical functions, under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

• Prepare and distribute medications under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, which may include non-hazardous and hazardous sterile compounding
• Procure and receive medications
• Perform clerical functions related to the preparation, distribution, procurement and receipt of medications
• Assure proper storage conditions for medications and manage inventory to maintain in-date product
• Perform all other related duties as assigned

• Completion of MN Board of Pharmacy‑accepted pharmacy technician training program, or willingness to complete training on site within 12 months of hire.
• Ongoing continuing education per MN Board of Pharmacy requirements

• Willing to be registered as a pharmacy technician with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy upon hire if not already registered.
• Pharmacy Technician certification by national certification board(s)

• Pharmacy or medical experience preferred
• Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and precision
• Ability to learn new computer system and technology
