Overview
The Sr. Production Trainer supports production operations by delivering hands-on training, maintaining accurate training records, and assisting in the development and improvement of training materials. This role focuses on ensuring employees are trained to perform job tasks safely and correctly, according to established procedures and quality standards.
ResponsibilitiesTraining
- Deliver production‑focused onboarding for new hires, including basic safety topics and introductory job‑specific training.
- Train and certify new employees on visual inspection criteria and production standards.
- Provide hands-on instruction on equipment, processes, and documentation as directed by Operations leadership.
Ongoing Production Training
- Plan, develop, administer, and record annual visual criteria recertifications for production employees.
- Provide refresher and skills‑based training on production processes as assigned.
- Support line trainers by helping certify employees on job tasks and verifying on-the-job training completion logs.
- Coach employees on proper techniques, quality requirements, and adherence to Work Instructions (WIs).
Training Materials & Documentation Support
- Create and update training materials and job aids based on direction from Engineering, Quality, or management.
- Provide feedback on the clarity and usability of Work Instructions and training documents from a production‑trainer perspective.
- Ensure training documents used on the floor are current and properly
- controlled.
- Partner with Engineering to assist in the creation and updating of training documentation (e.g., training materials, Work Instructions (WIs), LOTO documentation) for new products and processes in alignment with the PREP process.
Training Records & Systems
- Maintain accurate training sign‑off sheets and electronic training records.
- Enter training data into ETQ or other assigned systems
- Help ensure all required training is completed and documented per established procedures.
Compliance & Audit Readiness
- Follow ISO and FDA compliance requirements relevant to training activities.
- Retrieve training records during audits as directed by Quality or Operations leadership.
Production Support
- Provide hands-on support on the production floor when training needs are low, including assisting operators or line trainers as needed.
- Communicate training gaps or process concerns to supervisors promptly.
Other Duties
Perform additional tasks as assigned by Production Supervisors or Operations Management.
Required QualificationsExperience
- Minimum of 5 years of production experience, including roles requiring technical skill or expertise.
- Experience training others, demonstrating tasks, or supporting skill development on the production floor.
- Working knowledge of production documentation and following Work Instructions.
- Experience working in ISO- or FDA‑regulated environments preferred.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Familiarity with systems such as ETQ, QCBD, Epicor, or other training/quality data systems.
- Strong technical writing skills, including the ability to create and revise Work Instructions and training materials.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills
- Strong verbal communication skills and ability to coach employees effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively with line trainers, quality inspectors, lead operators, engineers, and supervisors.
- Comfortable training individuals with a range of experiences and skill levels.
- Experience in medical device manufacturing.
- Prior experience as a production trainer, lead operator, or quality trainer.
- Coursework or certification related to training, instructional support, or technical writing is a plus.
- Majority of work is performed on the production floor.
- Standing for extended periods and performing hands-on demonstrations as needed.
- Ability to use a microscope for extended periods of time.

Pay Range: $22-$33/Hour
