- Learn to feed product into the machine, catch and pack the product, and perform basic pre-run tasks for the Folder Gluer machine.
- Develop a strong understanding of how the machine runs, recognize quality issues, and maintain machine operation.
- Develop team lead skills while monitoring the machine run and team members on the Brausse.
- Run the machine with confidence, ensuring safety for team members, managing pace, and incorporating quality into daily work.
- Set-up Leary detection system.
- Set up and adjust machine for production runs (Make Readies) of various carton shapes to achieve properly folded cartons with adequate glue adhesion.
- Perform quality checks in full compliance with the quality system.
- Record all required run data and keep an accurate time sheet.
- Perform routine maintenance, machine cleaning, and preventative maintenance inspections of the folder-gluer machine and the gluing & detection system.
- Identify deficiencies in the folder-gluers and gluing & detection systems, request parts needed for repairs, and assist in repairs as needed.
- Oversee the work throughput and quality of the Folder Gluer Assistants assigned to your machine.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work together as a Folding Gluing Team and embrace teamwork.
- Willingness to accept feedback and grow in the position.
- Adept at working with hands, tooling, and machines.
- Basic computer skills or ability to learn them.
- Positive "can do" attitude that loves hands‑on work.
- GED or High School Equivalent.
- Prior experience in the print industry.
- Experience operating machinery in a production setting.
Physical Demands
- Standing/Walking:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (12 hours per shift). - Lifting/Carrying:
Regularly lift and move materials up to 35-40 lbs. - Repetitive Motions:
Frequent use of hands and arms for machine operation and material handling. - Visual/Manual Requirements:
Ability to read gauges, measure materials, and perform quality checks.
Environmental Conditions
- Noise Level: Exposure to moderate to high noise levels; hearing protection provided.
- Safety Gear:
Personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection may be required. - Other Factors:
Occasional exposure to dust, ink, or chemicals used in production.
Full-time position; standard schedule is 6PM-6AM, Monday through Wednesday with occasional overtime as needed.
