Purpose:
To assist the Principal & Assistant Superintendent of School Support in the improvement of student achievement through coaching teachers in the implementation of curriculum, instruction, assessment, technology usage; to assist teachers, staff and stakeholders in the development of teacher resources,, implementation of curriculum and instructional strategies, promotion of current best practices in instruction,; and to facilitate high quality district and campus-level professional development.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Valid Texas teacher certification
Bachelor's degree (Masters in progress or completed preferred)
ESL certification or Bilingual Education preferred
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Relevant educational studies through a combination of professional development/college hours
Knowledge of state and local curriculum, state assessment, assessment, instructional coaching, instructional design, and instructional technology.
Technology skills including the use of Google apps, online testing, and blended learning strategies.
Experience with mentoring teachers or in leadership roles such as department chair, grade-level team leader, or committee leader
Specialized training or proven experience with instructional coaching and the development of teachers.
Experience:
Five years successful classroom experience
