Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this position is to maintain and repair Brazos River Authority (BRA) water and/or wastewater facilities, equipment, projects, and grounds. This is accomplished by performing preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment; maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding pumps, motors, blowers, and plumbing; monitoring plant functions; repairing malfunctions or breakdowns on the plant equipment; and performing general and preventative maintenance on BRA buildings and grounds.
Other responsibilities include maintaining, repairing, servicing, installing, and operating mechanical equipment; fabricating equipment; maintaining interior offices; performing grounds maintenance at facilities; providing input on budget expenditures; ordering supplies; assisting with general administrative functions; and performing any other duties as assigned.
- Minimum four years experience or equivalent education
- Valid Texas Class C Driver s License and Good Driving Record
- Approved Hazmat training is required within six months of hire
- Must be able to obtain a D Water License for water treatment plants and/or Class D Wastewater License for wastewater treatment plants within six months of hire
- Preferred:
Class C Water License for water treatment plants and/or Class C Wastewater License for waste water treatment plants - High School Diploma

- Acquiring and demonstrating knowledge of safety and health procedures as they relate to the human resources of the organization and the protection of property.
This is a non-exempt position.
$25.41 to $32.40 per hour
