Job Summary

A Team Home Services is seeking a motivated Carpenter, Handyman & Remodeling Apprentice to join our growing team! This position is ideal for someone with basic experience in construction, carpentry, remodeling, or residential home repairs who wants to build a long‑term career in the skilled trades. Working alongside experienced technicians and installers, you'll receive hands‑on training while assisting with a wide variety of residential projects throughout the Greater Austin area.

The ideal candidate is dependable, eager to learn, mechanically inclined, detail‑oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional workmanship and outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with residential remodeling projects including kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, and general renovations
  • Support demolition, material preparation, installation, and finish work
  • Assist with carpentry projects including framing, trim, doors, cabinetry, shelving, and wood repairs
  • Help install vanities, cabinets, flooring, fixtures, hardware, appliances, and other residential components
  • Perform basic drywall repairs, patching, tape and float, painting, and finish work
  • Assist with general home maintenance and repair projects
  • Learn basic plumbing fixture installation and minor electrical fixture replacement under supervision
  • Measure, cut, and assemble materials using hand and power tools
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
  • Load, unload, transport, and organize tools and materials
  • Follow project scopes, layouts, safety procedures, and company quality standards
  • Keep tools and equipment clean, maintained, and organized
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners, coworkers, and supervisors
  • Continue developing technical skills through hands‑on training and mentorship
Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in occupied residential homes professionally
  • Ability to lift at least 55 pounds

Preferred

  • 1–2 years of experience in carpentry, construction, remodeling, handyman work, maintenance, or related trades
  • Basic knowledge of:
    • Carpentry
    • Drywall repair
    • Painting
    • Flooring
    • Home maintenance and repairs
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving ability
  • Strong attention to detail
