Position Summary: The Landscape & Irrigation Field Supervisor is responsible for overseeing landscape and irrigation installation projects, supervising crews and subcontractors, ensuring quality workmanship, maintaining safe job sites, and serving as a liaison between field operations, builders, customers, and office staff. This position is responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and in accordance with company standards while providing exceptional customer service and supporting accurate project documentation and billing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Start workday at 6:30 AM daily at the yard
; this position requires consistent on-site presence to ensure field operations are active and up to date - Oversee landscape and irrigation installations to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with company quality standards
- Direct and support field crews and subcontractors, ensuring manpower, materials, equipment, and resources are available to complete scheduled work
- Monitor job site safety, cleanliness, and organization while ensuring compliance with company safety policies and procedures
- Communicate regularly with scheduling staff, project managers, builders, and management regarding project status, scheduling concerns, and operational needs
- Review upcoming irrigation installations to verify proper system design, zone counts, coverage requirements, and project specifications prior to installation
- Identify and report material shortages, overages, pallet discrepancies, irrigation zone discrepancies, and other project-related issues that may impact production or profitability
- Inspect irrigation systems for proper coverage, performance, and seasonal watering requirements, adjusting as necessary
- Perform minor irrigation and landscape repairs when practical or properly document repair needs and coordinate scheduling for follow-up service
- Complete and submit all required daily reports, paperwork, project documentation, photos, and job notes accurately and on time
- Maintain accurate project information within Bolt and other company systems, ensuring completed jobs contain sufficient documentation to support billing and project records
- Assist the billing department by answering questions, providing supporting documentation, and ensuring project information is accurate and complete
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with builders, customers, subcontractors, and vendors through professional communication and exceptional customer service
- Conduct quality control inspections throughout project execution and address deficiencies as needed to ensure customer satisfaction
- Assist with training, mentoring, and evaluating crew members to promote productivity, safety, and quality workmanship
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Work Environment:
- Primarily field-based position with regular travel between job sites.
- Frequent interaction with builders, homeowners, subcontractors, vendors, field personnel, and office staff.
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and direct sunlight.
- Fast-paced environment requiring frequent problem-solving, communication, and coordination of multiple projects.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- 3 years of experience in landscape, irrigation, construction, or related field operations preferred.
- Ability to read plans, maps, purchase orders, and project specifications.
- Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively supervise crews and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Basic computer and mobile device proficiency, including the ability to utilize scheduling and project management software.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work on uneven terrain throughout the workday.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Ability to visually inspect irrigation systems, landscaping installations, and job site conditions.
