Responsibilities
  • POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Team Lead has general responsibility for coordinating and overseeing all operational activities, under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, and oversees associates dedicated to warehousing, receiving, and shipping in their area in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.
  • As part of the DSV team, Associates are expected to meet company objectives in performance, safety, and quality, and to comply with all corporate and site-specific policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Training Responsibilities: Mentor and train new and existing associates in specific distribution activities to help achieve established customer demands; train on current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including shipping, receiving, picking, and quality control; assist in forklift operation and certification for new and existing associates.
  • Shipping/Receiving Responsibilities: Oversee unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, and picking and staging of outbound shipments; verify inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers; ensure products are properly counted; load orders according to doors and trailers; ensure functions follow SOPs; research discrepancies in shipping/receiving process.
  • Customer Service: Maintain professional appearance and communications; may communicate with customers via phone, electronic, or in person; prepare activity reports for site management.
  • Quality Control Responsibilities: Use appropriate documentation to ensure products and/or orders are received/shipped correctly and accurately picked; verify products meet quality standards and report damages or discrepancies; perform packing tasks as required; participate in quality meetings and report inconsistencies to supervisors.
  • Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance: Knowledgeable of and comply with relevant ISO standards; execute safety protocols; maintain a clean and safe work area; follow SOPs and safety rules; participate in safety meetings.
  • Labor Management: Direct warehouse work team to meet objectives; assist with productivity tracking and scheduling; maintain appropriate staffing levels; ensure proper handling of products per quality procedures.
  • Responsibility and Authority: Participate in department meetings; initiate actions to prevent non-conformities and address issues; coordinate with Quality Department on non-conformities.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate equipment including sit-down/stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, sweeping/ scrubbing equipment, lifts, pallet jacks; maintain certification; perform basic maintenance and report problems.
  • Maintenance: Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
  • Other Duties: May perform clerical and administrative tasks; willing to work evenings and weekends; overtime as needed; other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education and/or

    Experience:

    Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • 1 year experience in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
  • Able to operate MHE (material handling equipment).
  • Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse; seasonal variations may range from mild to moderate.
