Pay Range: $32.50 to $37.94 USD. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position; final offers are based on skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
The Assistant Banking Center Manager (ABCM) supervises the staff at a Cape Cod 5 Banking Center. Responsible for monitoring performance and operations, ensuring the highest level of customer care for Bank customers. As a trusted financial advisor, the ABCM will advise and deliver a full range of financial services to customers to meet their financial goals. As a member of the retail management team, the ABCM will provide exceptional care and support to staff in achieving their professional goals.
Responsibilities- Oversees, supervises, and mentors Banking Center staff for the day‑to‑day administration of job duties, including scheduling, communicating overall goals, operations, and coaching.
- Monitors and makes decisions based on management reports.
- Builds rapport with customers, greeting them by name, understanding account types and authority, responding promptly to correspondence and problem resolution, while displaying a caring attitude (GUEST philosophy).
- Provides backup to the Banking Center Manager.
- Delivers excellent customer care to customers for daily transactions, addressing inquiries, and resolving problems in accordance with Bank policies and procedures.
- Performs banking transactions including deposits, loan payments, verifying cash and endorsements, check cashing, money orders, and treasurer's check issuance and savings bond redemption.
- Completes all Banking Center opening and closing activities.
- Introduces and advises on the Bank's deposit and consumer loan products to proactively meet customer needs.
- Identifies customers' existing and prospective financial needs, refers to other business lines, and maintains a working knowledge of all product and service offerings.
- Discusses lending opportunities and assists customers in preparing loan applications for home equity loans and other consumer loans.
- Safeguards customer trust by upholding confidentiality.
- Complies with all required laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Completes all assigned learning activities promptly.
- Participates actively in Banking Center meetings and one‑on‑one coaching sessions.
- Volunteer in community groups and events.
- Completes specialized training courses and certification programs as assigned and within allotted time frames.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or combination of secondary education and four years of progressive retail banking experience.
- Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration.
- Notary Public commission.
- Completion of Medallion signature guarantee training required.
- Three or more years of supervisory experience and proven leadership capabilities required, including minimum of one year retail banking supervisory experience.
- Conversant in all Bank business lines.
- Independent completion and mentoring of transactions and platform services.
- Execution of complex account openings and transactions independently.
- Supervision of staff at the RBI‑IV levels.
- Critical thinking, decision making, and problem‑solving skills.
- High level of judgement and decision‑making ability.
- Ability to fulfill open/close activities of the Banking Center.
- Prior customer relationship building experience.
