Job Summary
An Internal Auditor to assist in execution of the organization’s annual audit plan, including financial, operational and compliance audits. Responsible for identifying audit risks, developing audit programs, documenting findings, preparing reports, and conducting special investigations.
Responsibilities- Consistently provides service excellence to patients, families, visitors, volunteers, and co‑workers.
- Challenges current working practices, identifies process improvement opportunities, and presents recommendations to management.
- Provides input on audit plan development and executes assigned audits.
- Prepares narrative descriptions, flowcharts, and related documentation.
- Obtains, analyzes, and appraises relevant data to assess adequacy and effectiveness of controls, with focus on vulnerabilities that could lead to fraud or non‑compliance.
- Produces well‑organized work papers to support findings.
- Conducts periodic checks to ensure that implemented changes related to prior audit findings are maintained and audit objectives are achieved.
- Keeps informed on the business climate of the healthcare industry.
- Stays current with new accounting pronouncements, audit guidelines, policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
- Provides assistance to the Department and organization as reasonably required.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher), preferably in Law, Healthcare, Compliance, Finance, Business, or Accounting.
- Minimum of five years of prior audit experience, or more than seven years of audit experience in lieu of a degree.
- Certification in auditing through the Association of Health Care Auditors and Educators (AHCAE) preferred (e.g., CHCA, CHCAF, CHCAS, CHCRA).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Clinical or direct patient care experience preferred.
- Advanced computer proficiency, especially Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Ability to perform other work‑related duties as assigned.

CompensationAnnual salary range: $87,000 – $125,000 (full‑time).
