Job Title
Administrative and inspection work in the Town public health program; all other related work as required.
Bachelors degree in environmental health, public health or related field; one year experience in public health or comparable private sector work; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to obtain and receive certification in hazardous waste operations (hazwopper). Class D drivers license required.
Must provide personal vehicle during the work day to conduct inspections within the Town.
Knowledge of the laws, rules and regulations pertaining to public health and sanitation. Knowledge of laboratory practices, test techniques, equipment and terminology of hazardous and chemical analysis. Knowledge of fuel and chemical storage and clean-up practices and procedures. Ability to enforce and interpret regulations firmly, tactfully and impartially. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Proficiency in the use of computers including word processing, spreadsheets and database.
