Cardiac Rehab Exercise Specialist — Per Diem

Purpose of Position: Develops and conducts therapeutic exercise sessions for cardiac rehab participants.

• Records blood pressures, observes patient's condition, and monitors for indications of positive tests or other complications.
• Performs pulse oximetry, recognizing variation in methods and testing parameters required for various age groups.
• Monitors and records heart activity using telemetry while the patient undertakes exercise on rehab equipment, under physician's supervision.
• Assesses body composition using a scale, tape measure, skinfold calipers, or other techniques.
• Explains program and test procedures to patients.
• Develops proficiency in operating exercise testing systems.
• Evaluates patients' overall health, with special attention to cardiovascular function and metabolism.
• Designs individualized exercise plans based on patients’ needs and goals.
• Advices patients about nutrition, risk reduction, and ongoing exercise regimens.
• Teaches patient education and behavior modification classes.
• Follows department procedures for responding to cardiac arrests.
• Attends and participates in educational programs, in‑service meetings, workshops, and other activities related to job performance and knowledge.
• Performs other work-related duties as assigned or requested.

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science.
• Successful passage of the Basic Arrhythmia Program or challenge exam within 3 months of the position.
• Certified in BLS.
• Previous experience in adult fitness or cardiac rehabilitation preferred.

Schedule Details: Per Diem Hours, Rotating Days, 8:15a‑4:15p, No Weekends and No Holidays
