Education: High school diploma or GED preferred or work experience
Pay Range: $20-24/hr (dependent on education and experience)
Status: Full Time, Part Time, or Per Diem
Shift: All Shifts available!

About Us

High Point & Affiliated Organizations (HPAO) is a health and human service agency whose mission is to treat and prevent substance use disorders and mental illness. High Point has programs located throughout Southeast astern Massachusetts, offering a full continuum of care for substance use and mental health treatment, including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community-based services. Programs and services also assist survivors of abuse, violence, and families experiencing homelessness.

Dietary Aide Requirements

Must present as courteous and professional at all times

Demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to organize ideas in logical and clear fashion

Proficient and knowledge of basic computer skills and software programs including the ability to learn, use and train HPAO`s electronic medical records

Must have the ability to work with others in cooperative and collaborative manner

An understanding of the relationship between substance use and mental health issues and/or self-help programs

An understanding of boundaries and ethics

Comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Substance Abuse Confidentiality Regulations and HIPAA Regulations

Certification in the HPAO approved de-escalation program

Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs

Dietary Aide Duties & Responsibilities

Knowledge of Infection Control standards-hand washing, personal protective equipment (PPE) kits, blood spill kits, etc.;

Record all food temperatures prior to serving;

Stock assigned units;

Set up dish area and dining room;

Set up and serve assigned meals according to facility/location procedures;

Wash dishes and pans, as needed;

Cleaning and sanitizing assigned areas after all meals;

Remove all trash and cardboard after each assigned meal;

Receiving and storing of dry stock and produce items in assigned storage areas;

Setting up of salads, desserts, beverages, etc. for meal on the IPU trays (Meadowbrook);

Vacuum and mop of storage, kitchen, walk-in;

Attend mandatory trainings;

Adhere to all sanitary and infection control standards;

Daily logging of all refrigerator temperatures and monitoring cleanliness of all refrigerators in the nursing stations;

Utilizes standard precautions at all times;

Demonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of patients as defined by the patient rights;

Other duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager, Site Director, or Program Management.
