Company Description Cape Cod Gateway Airport is an enterprise fund of the Town of Barnstable, located at 480 Barnstable Road in Hyannis, Massachusetts. As a key transportation hub for Cape Cod, the airport supports commercial, general aviation, and community air service needs. The airport operates with a focus on safety, reliability, and service to residents, visitors, and regional businesses. Role Description The Airport Manager is a full-time, on-site position based at Cape Cod Gateway Airport in Hyannis, MA. This role oversees daily airport operations, including airfield activities, terminal services, and coordination with airlines, tenants, and regulatory agencies. Responsibilities include managing operational procedures, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and maintaining high safety and security standards. The Airport Manager develops and implements operational plans, monitors budgets, and supports long-term facility planning and capital projects.

Day-to-day tasks also involve supervising staff, resolving customer service issues, liaising with general aviation users, and representing the airport at public meetings and with community stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in Airport Management and Airport Operations, including oversight of airfield, terminal, and support services.
  • Strong Operations Management skills, with experience in process improvement, resource allocation, and compliance with aviation regulations.
  • Proven ability to deliver effective Customer Service in a public-facing, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Familiarity with General Aviation activities and needs, including coordination with pilots, aviation businesses, and related service providers.
  • Knowledge of FAA and TSA regulations, airport safety and security standards, and relevant local and state requirements.
  • Experience supervising and developing staff, and collaborating across departments and external partners.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports, policies, and presentations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Ability to work on-site, respond to operational issues outside regular hours as needed, and meet physical requirements of airport environments.
