Overview
RN, Emergency Services -
Responsibilities- Delivers patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Administers and monitors patient responses to all medications.
- Directs and guides patient care, teaching and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing within the realm of Hospital Policy.
- Maintains and delivers the highest quality customer service standards.
- Properly utilizes the nursing process in caring for patients by maintaining accurate and current patient records as evidenced by Nursing PI activities.
- Provides documentation of assessment of the patient throughout the Hospital admission including physical, psychological, social dimensions and discharge plans; communicates pertinent data to allied patient care providers as evidenced by Nursing PI activities.
- Understands, assumes, and demonstrates proficiency in the role of charge nurse.
- Demonstrates proficiency in Computerized Nursing Informatics (information systems).
- Assumes role of resource person regarding patient care, orientation and teaching staff.
- Participates in at least four-unit staff meetings per year, attends mandatory programs and obtains three hours of PCAC credit per year.
- Participates in identification of aspects of care, indicators used to monitor quality and appropriateness of care, and the evaluation of that care; adheres to safety, blood/body fluid policies and procedures.
- Assesses personal learning development needs and maintains documentation of current and ongoing professional development activities; updates knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to the age of the patient served; participates on Nursing Committees.
- Represents hospital in the community and within the hospital while maintaining confidentiality regarding patients and hospital matters; presents the hospital to best support services.
- Provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers.
- Performs other work-related duties and activities as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
- Registered Nurse, Emergency Services:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Basic Life Support and ACLS Certification required and must maintain certifications.
- Successful passage of CCH’s Pharmacology exam and Successful passage of Basic Arrhythmia exam.
- Must read, write and communicate in English.
- Completion of an approved de-escalation Certification Course within 30 days from hire.
- TNCC, ENPC and PALS certifications preferred.
- Recent (within last 3 years) Emergency Center RN experience required.
- Demonstrated skills in IV administration, IV starts, ventilator care, and telemetry monitoring required.
30hrs per week, 11:00am-9:30pm, Rotating days/evenings, Every Other weekend and Rotating holidays.
