Salary

The Starting Hourly Rate is $21.75 USD per hour. The Pay Range is $21.75 USD – $32.65 USD per hour.

AP teams keep our guests, team members, and brand secure. They mitigate shortage risks, prevent theft and fraud, and manage crises. They build relationships with store leaders, public safety officials, and law‑enforcement partners.

• Using intelligence‑led tactics to keep team members and guests safe and secure
• Crisis response, safety, and crowd management; providing support to both guests and team members
• De‑escalation techniques and experience with physical security controls
• Using Target’s video surveillance system
• Timely and accurate documentation of cases using case‑management systems

• Deliver a friendly guest experience: greet guests with a smile, offer assistance, and ensure a smooth shopping experience.
• Support team members and peers while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Assess and maintain safe and secure standards throughout the store, including exterior property.
• Respond to and accurately document security incidents.
• Leverage de‑escalation tactics and resources during incidents.
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft‑apprehension support.
• Prevent theft and shortage at the front of the store by performing receipt checks.
• Submit appropriate documentation in the case‑management system for all incidents.
• Use Target’s video surveillance system as required.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
• Work safely at all times; comply with safety policies and correct hazards when possible.
• Perform all other duties based on business needs.

• Thrives in a fast‑moving, physically demanding role that requires teamwork and flexible problem‑solving.
• Open to a flexible schedule with varying hours, days, shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices, operate handheld scanners, and use other technology equipment as directed.
• Strong communication skills.
• Work independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment.
• Climb ladders, apprehend subjects per company policy, and move merchandise up to 40 pounds safely.
• Work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other conditions, including Drive‑Up and carry‑out duties.
• Remain mobile for the duration of the scheduled shift.
