Equipment Operator II, Structures & Grounds
Department: Department of Public Works-Structures and Grounds Division
Skilled manual work in the operation of specialized and heavy equipment and other public works vehicles and in performing construction, internment, and maintenance activities; all other duties as assigned.
Below are the minimum qualifications required for this position.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma and three years experience in public works construction and maintenance activities including the operation of heavy and specialized equipment; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
CDL Class A unrestricted driver's license required.
Massachusetts Class 2A, 1C and 4G Hoisting Licenses.
Additional Qualifications:
Working knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques; responsible for observing required safety precautions; knowledge of cemetery layout and lot locations.
Ability to perform heavy manual labor under varying weather conditions; ability to locate plots on cemetery maps using electric locating devices, probes, and measuring devices.
Demonstrated skill in operating and maintaining all types of special and heavy equipment and trucks.
