About the Position

The contractor performs the services set forth below under the general direction and supervision of the Prince George’s County Department of Social Services, Community Services Division. This position is located in Energy Assistance Services, which provides prevention and intervention services to individuals and families in need of assistance with their utilities and weatherization. The contractor shall serve as Program Reviewer and is responsible for the day-to‑day oversight of the Energy Assistance Application process and other program objectives.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Review incoming Energy Applications to establish documentation set forth by the Office of Home Energy Programs (OHEP) operations manual.
  • Follow case management policies and procedures and ensure all case records are maintained in accordance with federal, state, county, and departmental standards.
  • Maintain the set program goal of 15 new cases completed per day.
  • Interview county residents using standards and controls set by the program objectives and monitor resident progress.
  • Manage the case management process by following up on previous cases, answering customers’ calls, text, and emails.
  • Monitor to ensure families receive the services they need and for which they are eligible.
  • Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly desk reports.
  • Adhere to agency standards of excellent customer service.
  • Attend training necessary to become proficient in the management of the Office of Home Energy Programs (OHEP) and update data on program participant service records accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with key community and organizational groups.
  • Develop cooperative and professional relationships with co-workers and other CDS employees.
  • Accomplish skills working with vendor log on, including CARE/MABS;
    Pepco, Washington Gas, Work Number, SVE, and the agency’s scanning devices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate.
