POSITION SUMMARY:
Seeking a detail-oriented Property Compliance Manager with expertise in Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and HUD programs to join our team. The ideal candidate will ensure our organization's adherence to all relevant regulations and policies while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and efficiency
include the following but are not limited to:
- Implement and oversee compliance programs and policies related to LIHTC and HUD regulations
- Conduct initial lease-ups and ensure ongoing compliance with program requirements
- Perform regular internal audits to verify adherence to regulatory standards
- Review and understand various types of documents for verification purposes
- Provide detailed directions and training to staff on compliance expectations and matters
- Collaborate with different departments to ensure organization-wide compliance
- Prepare and submit compliance reports to Owners, Investors, and Regulatory agencies
- Stay updated on changes in housing regulations and standards, particularly for LIHTC and HUD programs
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Compliance Specialist, preferably in the multifamily affordable housing field
- In-depth knowledge of LIHTC program regulations and requirements
- Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to on-site staff
- Familiarity with HUD programs; knowledge of HOME program is a plus
- Excellent mathematical skills for accurate financial calculations and reporting
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Office 365 Outlook, Share Point
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong communication and collaborative skills
- Willingness and ability to travel as required for site visits and audits
- HCCP Certification or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in affordable housing compliance
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION and PRESENTATION SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, residents, customers, and the public. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other team members of the organization.
LEADERSHIPand STAFF DEVELOPMENT
Experience in managing a diverse workforce. Ability to manage conflict, provide direction, and drive business results by managing the performance of staff members.
ANALYTICAL and MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages and apply to practical situations. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to analyze basic operating statements and identify unusual operating trends, ratios, and variances.
PROBLEMSOLVING SKILLS
Ability to make and implement decisions under conditions of risk and/or uncertainty.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
