Data Analyst
Primary Purpose
The Operations Research Analyst is responsible for supporting the design of optimal fulfillment solutions, ensuring they are configured and controlled for peak efficiency. They will understand the systems that manage our fulfillment channel, how to configure them, the data they generate, and use that data to inform key insights and identify improvement opportunities. The Analyst will guide the design, development, and implementation of enhancements to existing or new solutions, advise on tactical system usage to increase productivity, capacity, customer and associate experience, and sustainability.
They will collaborate with brand operations, Implementation & Integration teams, and other stakeholders to gather learnings, advise standard operating procedures, and deliver data‑driven optimization solutions (e.g., order batching, tote cubing, item slotting, pathfinding). The role will evaluate, test, and sign off on new systems and processes, support pilots and proven systems, and contribute expertise to the design of proposed facilities and layouts.
& Location
Our flexible/hybrid work schedule includes 3 in‑person days at a core location and 2 remote days. Core offices are located in Salisbury, NC;
Quincy, MA;
Carlisle, PA;
Scarborough, ME; and Hyattsville, MD.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.
Duties & Responsibilities- Support the development of the ADUSA e‑commerce fulfillment strategy and execution by informing design through data and insights.
- Assist the Optimization team in designing and improving optimal fulfillment models that meet business needs through data, requirements gathering, documentation, and collaboration with vendor partners and cross‑functional teams.
- Work directly with counterparts in Tech to aid IT integration and system design, providing data on current performance and representing ADUSA Fulfillment Strategy & Solutions in IT design decisions.
- Provide subject‑matter expertise in collaboration with ADUSA Data Science to improve tactical fulfillment processes.
- Use operational data to identify improvement opportunities in tactical processes such as item slotting, order batching, tote cubing, and pathfinding, and work with data science to deliver solutions.
- Develop KPIs to evaluate solutions and individual implementations, and help create dashboards and reports to monitor performance.
- Collaborate with other ADUSA areas (industrial engineering, business development, merchandising, etc.) to identify and shape improvement opportunities and engineering studies.
- Contribute to an Optimization department that promotes partnership behaviors, cross‑function collaboration, continuous learning, and a culture of belonging.
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Continuous Improvement, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related fields is beneficial.
- Understanding of dynamic handling characteristics, constraints, and risks associated with a wide range of material handling systems.
- Proficiency with SQL and/or other data analysis techniques for pulling and analyzing large datasets.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Java or Python.
- Experience with simulation and modeling software.
- Knowledge of fulfillment tools and systems (OMS, WMS, picking apps, inventory systems, etc.).
- Experience with data querying, mining, and dashboarding.
- Knowledge of food safety and workplace safety best practices.
- Ability to break down objectives into initiatives and actions, learn quickly, provide timely information across the organization, understand key financial indicators, and demonstrate a thorough understanding of retail and e‑commerce fulfillment processes.
- Strong communication skills, ability to transform complex data into actionable insights, present recommendations, and demonstrate openness to new ideas and technology.
- Systems oriented with an understanding of IT systems and applications, and ability to evaluate and recommend procedural changes.
- More than 3 years of experience in a related field with a track record of delivering key abilities and knowledge.
- Successful delivery of cross‑functional projects.
- Participation in projects implementing or delivering automated fulfillment solutions, or close knowledge of operating such solutions and optimizing them with tactical approaches.
ME/NC/PA/SC Salary Range: $75,040 – $112,560
IL/MA/MD/NY Salary Range: $86,320 – $129,480
