Compensation: $90,000–$100,000 +10% bonus
About the RoleA leading regional food service distribution company is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee overnight warehouse and distribution operations at its multi-temperature facility in Hyattsville, MD.
This hands‑on leadership role is ideal for an operations professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑accountability environment. You’ll manage end‑to‑end warehouse activities—ensuring smooth shipping, receiving, inventory accuracy, and food safety compliance—while driving continuous improvement across all operational metrics.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage third‑shift warehouse operations, ensuring on‑time, accurate order fulfillment across ambient, refrigerated, and frozen zones
- Maintain compliance with food safety standards (HACCP, FSMA) and warehouse best practices.
- Monitor and improve KPIs in areas of safety, productivity, labor efficiency, and quality control.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including transportation, procurement, sales, HR, and accounting.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar frameworks.
- Support organizational growth through strong team development and process optimization.
Required
- 3+ years of progressive leadership experience in warehouse or distribution operations.
- Experience in food service or wholesale distribution, including multi‑temperature environments.
- In‑depth understanding of inventory systems, quality control, food safety regulations, and labor management.
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams in 24/7 operations.
Preferred
- Experience launching new facilities or building operational teams from the ground up.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency with WMS/ERP systems and warehouse automation tools.
- Demonstrated success managing operations through growth and transition phases.
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred: Advanced degree or professional certifications (Six Sigma, PMP, CPIM).
